How to check the weather and the forecast

This tool shows the current conditions of a city (temperature, feels-like temperature, humidity, wind and visibility) and, right below, a short three-day forecast: high, low and weather description for today, tomorrow and the day after. There is no hour-by-hour forecast or one for a whole week.

Type the city name in the search field and click "Search" or press Enter.
Wait for the "Loading..." message and see the card with the current weather and the forecast for the coming days.
For the place where you are, use the green "Use My Location" button. The browser asks for your permission before giving out the coordinates, and the search field is filled in with the name of the area found.
If the place is not found or the service is down, a red message explains the problem. Try the name without abbreviations or add the country, for example "Curitiba, Brazil".

What information appears

Place name: the page shows the area the service actually found (city, region and country), not just the text you typed. Check this name to be sure it is the right place.
Temperature now in degrees Celsius and the description of the conditions (in Portuguese when the service offers the translation; otherwise, in English).
Feels-like temperature: how the temperature is perceived, taking wind and humidity into account.
Relative humidity as a percentage, wind in km/h and visibility in km.
3-day forecast: the high and low temperature of each day and the condition expected for the middle of the day.

Where the data comes from and what the limits are

All data comes from a single free public service, wttr.in, both for the search by name and for the location. The tool uses no access key and stores nothing. This brings real limits:

The service is free and may be slow, unstable or unavailable at times. When that happens, the page shows an error message instead of invented numbers; just try again later.
The location is approximate. The data usually comes from the nearest station or reference area, not from your neighborhood.
Cities with the same name in different countries can be ambiguous. Use the name of the country or state together with the city.
The forecast is a daily summary and weather models make mistakes, especially from the second or third day on.

Travel: look up your destination to know the current weather and the highs and lows for the next three days, enough to decide what to pack for a weekend.
Outdoor activities: humidity, wind and tomorrow's forecast help you decide whether it is worth scheduling a run, a barbecue or a bike ride.
Comparing cities: search one at a time to see the difference between the capital and a city in the countryside.

Privacy and how it works

The page requires no sign-up and does not save the cities you search for. The name you type is sent to wttr.in to get the result. When you use the location button, the browser provides your coordinates only after your authorization, and they (rounded) are sent to the same service; you can deny the permission and keep searching by name. Frequently asked questions

Does the tool show tomorrow's forecast?

Yes. Besides the current weather, it shows the high, the low and the weather description for today, tomorrow and the day after. There is no hour-by-hour forecast or one for more than three days.

The "Use My Location" button gave an error. What should I do?

Check that you allowed location access in the browser and that the device has GPS or an active network. If it still fails, search by the city name.

Why does the temperature differ from my phone's app?

Different sources use different stations, models and update times, and small differences are normal.

The city I typed was not found. Now what?

Try the spelling without accents, the name in English or add a state or country. Small towns are not always in the service's database.

Can I use the information for safety decisions, such as storm alerts?

It is not recommended. For alerts about heavy rain, strong winds or extreme heat, follow the civil defense and official meteorological agencies.
