Capture screenshots of websites
Capturing screenshot...
This tool generates a screenshot of a web page from an address, at widths that simulate desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile. It is useful for keeping a record of how a site looked on a given day or for getting an idea of how it appears on different screens.
https://; if it is missing, the tool adds it). Only http and https addresses are accepted. The capture is not made on your device. The page builds a request to a single public screenshot service (thum.io) with the address and the chosen width, and shows the image it returns, limited to 1200 px of height. There is no backup service: if that service fails, the tool shows a clear error message instead of an image. This has a few consequences:
A custom width must be a whole number between 320 and 1920 pixels; outside that range, the tool warns you instead of silently using a default value. The address is checked too: invalid addresses or ones with other protocols (such as ftp://) are rejected.
The address you type and the width you choose are sent to the external capture service, which visits the page and returns the image. So do not enter addresses that contain sensitive data, such as private links, tokens or logged-in areas. The tool keeps no history in your browser. More details in the Privacy Policy.
No. The image is limited to the top of the page, with a maximum height of 1200 px.
The external service may have failed, taken too long, blocked the request or been unable to reach the site. Try again later or with another address.
No, because the service visits the page as an anonymous visitor, without your session.
This happens when the browser does not let the page fetch the image directly. Right-click (or tap and hold on a phone) the image and choose to save it.
It changes the width of the capture window, which triggers the responsive layout of most sites, but it does not emulate a specific device.
