It is a guessing game: the computer picks a number and you try to find it by clicking on a grid of numbers. After each guess, the game tells you whether the right number is higher or lower and how close you got, and the numbers that can no longer be the answer are disabled.
Since each guess eliminates all the numbers on one side, the best move is always to pick the middle number of the range that is left. On medium difficulty there are 100 numbers; guessing in the middle cuts the range in half with each attempt, and the right answer usually comes in just a few turns. If you start by guessing at the ends, you eliminate almost nothing.
The game runs entirely in the browser. Your best score, game history, statistics by difficulty and sound preference are saved only in your device's localStorage, with nothing sent to servers. If you clear the site data, these records disappear. See the Privacy Policy for how the site handles data in general.
Yes. With each new game, a random number is picked within the range of the chosen difficulty.
Because after a guess, the game knows the right number is on one side only. The ones on the other side are disabled to prevent pointless guesses.
It is saved in the browser. Switching browsers or devices, using a private window or clearing the site data makes the record disappear.
The grid is made of clickable elements, so a tap works like a click. On small screens, the grid may feel tighter.
Check the speaker button at the top and your device's volume. The sounds depend on the browser's audio support and may only start after the first tap or click on the page.
